One of our goals with the Signature Series, beyond highlighting a variety of coffee regions around the world, is supporting smaller or non-traditional farms. Introducing the Peruvian Warmikuna women's coffee from an all-women cooperative in Peru!

From the website of our coffee import partner, Genuine Origin:
The name Warmikuna means "women" in Quechua, one of Peru's oldest languages. In 2010, a handful of women coffee producers joined our cluster in Junin's coffee growing region. Twelve years later, the Warmikuna cluster was born. Today, it is comprised of 55 thriving women who have followed our agronomic standards and have demonstrated a leading role in the coffee business.
In addition to this amazing origin story, we're excited to bring you this coffee as a way to spread more knowledge about coffee in Peru and the Junin region. Sitting just below the equator on the Pacific coast of South America, Peru borders two behemoths in the coffee world -- Brazil and Colombia. Despite that, Peru is "the world’s 5th largest producer of Arabica coffee," according to a report by Genuine Origin.

The Junin region, just east from the capital of Lima and where the Warmikuna women's coffee is grown, is in a unique spot between the Andes mountain range and the Amazon rainforest. The biodiversity and cultural diversity of the region allows for Peru to differentiate itself in the broader South American coffee industry.
With a flavor profile of apricot, dried dates, brown sugar, chamomile and lime, the Warmikuna women's coffee from Peru will be like nothing you've ever tried before! Check it out here, and let us know what you think.

Happy sipping, and stay up to date on everything Everette's by following us here and on Instagram. Cheers!
