Grocery News: Everette's Coffee Now Available at Common Ground Food Co-Op in Urbana

More great news to start the new year, and a first in company history: Everette's Coffee is now available at a store outside the Chicagoland region. We're proud to partner with Common Ground Food Co-Op in Urbana, and we couldn't be more excited!

The Everette family history is closely intertwined with Central Illinois, and specifically Champaign-Urbana. It's basically a second home to us.

Our father, Mark, was born and raised in Champaign, and his parents continued to live there until they passed away late in life. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (yes, we grew up using the C-U abbreviation but the university goes with U-C; just roll with it) where he met our mother, Lisa (of Sandrolini Dark Roast fame), and they graduated and got married before moving up to the suburbs of Chicago to start a family. Growing up, we spent many years visiting our grandparents for holidays, family reunions and university sports.

While Rob managed to somehow avoid the "Illini infection," I (John) did not, and this 2010 graduate still ties his emotional well-being to the results of Fighting Illini football and basketball games. Our sister, multiple aunts and two grandfathers are all Illinois graduates, as well. When we say we "bleed orange and blue," we mean it!

And so, it was all the more special that Common Ground was interested in our coffee. Located at 300 S. Broadway Avenue in downtown Urbana, Common Ground is a member-owned grocery store that sources local and organic foods while building community. Founded in 1974 by a passionate and dedicated group of community members who wanted to provide healthy and affordable food to their neighborhoods, they've been in their current location at Lincoln Square Mall since 2008.
