Everette's Coffee and Food Pairings

Recently, we received some feedback from the Global Coffee Awards about our Sandrolini Dark Roast. You can read the professional tasting notes below, which happily align with our expectation of that particular roast.

However, it was the suggested food pairings section that got us thinking. What other foods would pair well with our coffee, or any coffee for that matter?
In the world of wine, we hear of food pairings all the time. In fact, that type of information is often built in to your experience at a nice restaurant with an extensive wine list. Coffee, on the other hand, doesn't always get the same treatment. But maybe it should!

Let's start with a light roast, like our Sunbean. It's one of our favorite coffees to drink first thing in the morning, with the higher caffeine content certainly playing a factor! With our light roast, we're going for a flavor profile that is bright and vibrant, featuring a captivating flavor profile of orange, honey, molasses and milk chocolate. Here are some recommended light roast coffee and food pairings:
Fresh fruit, especially berries or melons
Light pastries, like a fluffy croissant, or crepes with Nutella
Greek yogurt with honey and granola
A medium roast, like our crowd-pleasing Cozy Casa, is quite versatile. With that one, we're going for an everyday, balanced blend with a flavor profile bursting with mild citrus, toffee, almond and dark chocolate. Here are some recommended medium roast coffee and food pairings:
Buttermilk pancakes with a side of bacon or sausage
An "everything bagel" sandwich with cream cheese
Other soft cheese like brie or camembert
As already mentioned above, our Sandrolini Dark Roast might pair very well with dessert options, like red velvet or chocolate cake, or a very sweet breakfast item like fresh donuts. That being said, here are some other recommended dark roast coffee and food pairings, on the savory side:
Steak and eggs
Huevos rancheros
Hard cheese, like aged cheddar or gouda
As with anything in the coffee world, try out what works best for you! These pairings are largely based on our own personal preferences, but we'd love to hear your thoughts. What are some of your favorite coffee and food pairings?
